Today I'm sharing a pretty special wedding, my brothers! And not only did I do the flowers and help coordinate, but I got to be a bridesmaid as well! Also, enjoy some cute pictures of my son, Brooks-the ring bearer.
Once Adam and Hannah got engaged, I'm not sure they had a choice of if they were going to work with me or not (I'm kind of kidding). I did text Hannah and tell her I would help her with anything she wanted me to, but I didn't want to make her feel like she had to have me involved.
Adam and Hannah are a little opposite of me. I LOVE the details and making sure everything is planned down to the minute. They're much more open to winging it. But that's one reason a lot of my couples hire me-because they want someone who pays attention to all the details. So I helped with their planning, design, stationery, and florals. I loved getting to come up with fun design details and asking if they would let me try it out. They kind of got to be guinea pigs for some of my ideas-but most of them worked!
Since I did their florals, I threw in a "few" extra here and there. They had the largest floral order I had to date (but was beat out in September) and I got to do some really fun pieces.
Adam and his groomsmen started the day off at Boiler Brewing in downtown Lincoln. Adam loves home brewing so it was really special for him. I also was able to get some hops vines and incorporate them in some arragements and boutonnieres. The hot weather didn't agree with them, but I'd love to use them for a future wedding!
Their wedding ceremony and reception were both at Glacial Till. And somehow, they picked the hottest weekend of the year. Friday for rehearsal it was 105 degrees! Saturday was slightly cooler and the sun went behind a cloud for the ceremony and the wind picked up a little--it was perfect timing!
One of my favorite things about the venue was the industrial yet slightly rustic feel. The head tables were huge tree slices that were pulled from the property. The lighting and the bar is my favorite! But, of course, the one wedding that I would have allowed myself to have a drink, I was pregnant. But if you do ever get to the venue, you have to try their cider! It's delicious.
I loved working with their vendor team! Send them some love below!
