Happy Monday Boss Ladies!
Two weeks ago, I had a week full of big announcements for both my business and my personal life! I am so excited to be adding florals to my offerings. But...I'm even more excited to be add a baby to our family next April!
With a new baby coming soon, (eek!) I'm nervous! My business is brand new, I haven't even been officially in business for a whole year yet. I'm so afraid I'm not going to be able to balance my business and my family. Any mom bosses have some advice???
I can't decide if I should be optimistic about working with a newborn or if I should count on NOT working (and then any work I do get done is a bonus!) I know how special and important the first year with our first baby is going to be. But, I know I want to take this business full time (and SOON!) and we're still going to need income from this business to help support our family. I've had so many people tell me that I'll be lucky to get to take a shower in the first few months, let alone try to work on a business between laundry and washing bottles and keeping up with housework during nap time. It's definitely a fear that's clouding my heart right now.
I absolutely know that this baby and my husband will ALWAYS be my first priority. Right now, I feel like I'm not giving that spot to my husband and I'm constantly working on my business. I know I need to do better and that's going to be one of my goals for 2016. When you're running your own business, there's always something that needs to be done and it's so hard to put away your laptop or put down your phone and enjoy time in the present.

I was blessed enough to be be featured on the the Rising Tide Society's Start Up Series and share some tips for new business owners a few weeks ago. I'm hoping that when I'm stressed out I can remember my own advice! Remember WHY you started your business in the first place! Remember the joy you have for your business. It's going to get overwhelming at times, but there's a reason you put so much work into it in the first place!
Tip number two I shared was to find someone who can relate to your situation! So, if there are any moms out there that run a successful business, I'd LOVE to connect with you! I'd love to hear how you balance your family and your business. It's scary, but it's also so exciting to start this new journey with a new addition to our family!
What's your biggest business fear? I'd love to hear what you're struggling with and help support you!
